Star Buy

With small reflector telescopes usually selling for astronomical prices, Aldi will shortly be doing their bit to support Britain's aspiring Peeping Toms.  So keep an eye out for this, which will be on sale from Sunday 24th of October.  However, the raincoat is an optional extra.  [LINKY THINGY

I bought His Lordship a rather nice Meade telescope a few Christmas' ago, but it's hardly been used.  What he really needs is some way to set up and adjust the telescope but have it linked to his laptop in the warmth of our living room rather than having to go outside.  Any suggestions?

If it's a Meade ETX then there is a wonderful website to meet all his needs Gill.  Take a look at
http://www.weasner.com/etx/menu.html  That should answer all his questions but remember it's an enormous website!  That Aldi telescope is very good value Rod, although I would recommend that you check that the stand is robust enough before making a purchase.

Great link, Clive - thanks :) .  I don't know if Maurice's Meade is an ETX but I'll draw his attention to it.

on the point of the aldi one, you can probably get considerably better for a slight increase in price. However, this would probably make a good starting telescope for a kid  - the sort of one I had. However, a pair of binoculars do wonderful things.
