Host for Video

(1/6) > >>

notaclue:
Hopefully I should be going on a trip soon & am looking at borrowing a digital camcorder to take with me. Iv got video edtiting software which i want to add background music too etc. Then, so the other people on the trip can see the vid I would like to put it on the net.

I do not have a website or anything & currently use 'photobucket' & other simmilar hosts for any pics but I was wondering if there are any that will hosts videos for free?

Or is there some other way I can do this.

Thanks!

Hmmm...  That's a pretty tall order!

Video files in any format are usually quite large.  You'll need webspace with a hosting provider which allows video streaming, while allowing you the bandwidth needed for people to view them.

Is it all beginning to sound a bit expensive now?  Why not burn the video to CD and post it, instead?  You'll save money and won't burst your brain building and maintaining a website.

I'd quite like a website. Iv got dreamweaver, fireworks & flash to design pages with.
What do I need to do & how much will it cost?

Barra:
Hi. I don't know if you have 56k dial-up or ADSL but Plusnet offer 250mb of webspace with their ADSL acounts. Hosting is £1 per month.

Sandra:
Do you know how big this video is going to be, in mbs or gbs ?
Storage capacity is one thing, bandwith is another thing altogether.
If you had a 50mb vid file on and ten people downloaded it one day that may well excede your monthly bandwith limit  :(
