networking problems
« on: November 13, 2004, 19:27 »
I have set up my wireless network this morning, i have a adsl modem / wireless router, which i attached to my pc via ethernet cable.  I can access the internet on both my main pc and on my laptop via the wireless card.

However I cant set up file and printer sharing, if i run the network wizard in XP, I Loose the internet connection for myn laptop, and still cant  see the other machine! I have even disabled the firewall on both machines to rule this out.

Both machines are running xp, with no sp2 on, and as i said both firewall have been disabled.

Any help would be appreciated

Paul

Hi Paul and :welcome:

Have a look in the LAN properties of each pc and check that the built in internet connection sharing firewall hasnt been enabled.
When you tell the wizard to set your LAN up in one particular way it enables it by default  :)
