I can't guarantee this, Jam, but having done a bit of Googling I came up with something which might help in line 240 of the link below:-

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

It seems that it's possible your Explorer settings have been messed with, probably by some of the spyware you have just removed.  Create a System Restore point before attempting this, and be aware that it does alter your registry settings.  Failing this, or any other suggestions, a Windows 'Repair' installation may be on the cards.

That's a great site Simon    :)

Maybe it's good to pin it.

If yes, why not to pin it in the section of Tips Tweaks...?

wow i was so pleased that registry tweak worked!

it's made me notice a few little things that could be down to like spyware wreckin my pc, like sometimes, quite frequently my mouse gets a mind of it;s own, maybe for like half a sec it the cursor jumps up and down a litttle independantly,

think this is comething to do with registry errrors? and if ther's a tweak to fix it?

thanks

Jaminxz

Occasional, random symptoms like you described with a mouse, are usually more likely to be the result of dirt in the ball, or on the optical sensor, or a low battery in cordless versions, rather than spyware, Jam, although if your mouse constantly seems to have a life of it's own, apparently there are nasty things which can do this.

oh it's not really that bad sion, it's like tiny flickers every so often, i really think it might be dust or something on my optical sensor.

Thanks,

Jaminxz

That's more than likely.  I have an optical mouse which does exactly the same once in a while.
