Much cheapness thread

Can't find the solution to this problem

When I try to open much cheapness threads my browser closes down.

I can access all the other threads no problems.

I have tried opening this thread with both browsers ie6 and Firefox and they both close down the minute I click on it.

Have you tried opening an earlier page in that thread instead of the latest page, then going to the latest from the numbers ?

As the subject is here now, I maybe have a reason to talk about it:

In fact, 'Much Cheapness" thread doesn't concern me at all. It doesn't concern much those who live out of the UK. So, in my case, though it's very important to some, I don't feel the need to open it at all.

I may suggest that it has its' own section (including categories, maybe), to be more useful to those who are concerned. And leave the section "Useful Sites" for other things.

Having many categories in it, may make it faster and easier to open.

What do you think?

Yes, good idea - why not call it, 'Cammy's Canny Corner'?   :)

That's all very well but it doesn't answer my problem.

I have tried opening it from the first thread but still the same result.

lona,

i have tested it on various spec machines and every browser i can think of.. iincluding the awful IE and Konqueror. ummm. I am not sure what is occuring.

can you get to it via the last post feature? or does it only occur when you try to view the thread from the begin (i.e. clicking on it on the index page)?

Well, there are no pop ups on here, so I would guess that to be a coincidence, Sandra.  It might be worth her clearing her cache and cookies - that often helps.

yes everything on the site is driven by php and xhtml.. so anything we need a popup for we use the xhmtl for instead.. i.e. the private messages

Everything seems to be working now and the only reason I can think of is I downloaded firefox 1.3 and it was after installing that I got the problem.

It was unusual for it just to be on that particular thread though. :?

It used to happen on the old forum, Lona, when someone's avatar or sig refused to load, or even a remotely hosted smiley.  Clearing your cache and cookies sometimes helps.
