computer standby
« on: August 02, 2005, 22:55 »
My computer wont enter standby.

I get the following message:-
?The device driver for the ?Standard 101/102-key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard? device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If problem persists, you may need to update this driver.?

How do I update the driver?

What do I need to do to cure this?

Regards, Bryan.

According to what I have found out, Bryan, this issue may occur if Adobe Type Manager is installed on your computer.  Certain versions of Adobe Type Manager (version 4.0, for example) may not be compatible with the power management features of Windows XP.

If that does not help, see this other article, originally written for Windows 2000:-

Sorry to have not replied earlier - I've been away.

That has cured it!

Thank you very much.

Bryan.
