talktalk
« on: November 20, 2006, 23:12 »
I changed my ISP in July this year, from Tesco to talktalk.

I'm beginning to wish I hadn't!

Talktalk opens OK, but when I click the mail button, then in box, I find myself using Tesco's service, hence I'm getting bills from Tesco as well as paying talktalk.

I rang the talktalk technical help line and spent 56 minutes talking to a chap in South Africa. He was unable to help me and told me someone from talktalk would ring me. Needless to say, no one rang me.

It's probably quite easily sorted, but I've tried everything I know with no success.

Can anyone help please?

Pollard.

As long as you're using talk talk connection you won't be paying tesco.

Usually when you change isp you can get incoming mail from previous provider.

You won't be able to send outgoing mail with your tesco email address.

Yes, you probably just need to change your email POP3 and SMTP settings to your TalkTalk account, and that should sort it.  If you still have access to your Tesco mail account, you should still be able to download these, but the SMTP (outgoing) server setting should be changed to TalkTalk.

How can I check that my e-mail settings are correct?

The settings for your e-mail account are as follows:

POP3 server: pop3.talktalk.net
SMTP Server: smtp.talktalk.net
Username: username@talktalk.net
E-mail address: username@talktalk.net
