Great Songs
Rodders:
Blimey! So you actually did go out and buy B&W Night then Clive. Brill, innit! My personal favourite is 'Comedians'. As well as being one hell of a song, it really shows what an incredible vocal range Roy Orbison had.
I must say it's heartwarming to see choices such as The Animals - Sky Pilot, and Gary US Bonds here. While anything by Van Morrison or Ry Cooder is guaranteed to get my attention too. If I had enough time, I could easily fill several pages with tunes that make me go wet at the knees, but in the interests of brevity here's just a dozen of them.
Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover
Santana - Song of the Wind
Foo Fighters - All My Life
Fiona Apple - A Mistake
Joni Mitchell - Overture/Cotton Avenue
Doobie Bros/Michael MacDonald - Losin' End
Van Morrison - Madam George
The Tubes - Don't Want To Wait Anymore
Walker Brothers - Archangel
Jackson Browne - Sky Blue And Black
Rival Schools - Used For Glue
Waren Zevon - Carmelita
Clive:
Yes, I have to say that if I could only have one music DVD then it would have to be Black & White night. It's by far my favourite. Didn't realise that anyone else had even heard of Gary US Bonds! I was a big fan of his and have most of his early 45's on the Top Rank and Stateside labels.
Rodders:
I've got Gary US Bonds 'Dedication' on cassette which I still play from time to time, although I really ought to fork out for the CD soon.
As for the wax cylinder recordings that you recommended, they looked at me a bit strangely when I asked for them in the Virgin Megastore just now. What a rubbish shop that is. They haven't even heard of a One Pod either. :-\

Even I haven't a clue about most of them! There are some I recognise, and it will be interesting to check out some of the others, but I'm still well into The Black Parade at the moment, and nothing yet I have heard since has touched it, playability wise.
Clive:
I haven't heard Dedication - that was after Bruce Springsteen re-discovered him in the early '80's. Bonds is an acquired taste for certain. :D
