Nero Tools
« on: December 28, 2007, 15:16 »
Is Nero Tools part of Nero 8 or is it an additional piece of software they expect you to buy?  I notice from the manual that Nero Rescue Agent which claims to restore unplayable CD's and DVD's is part of Tools but I'm certain that I don't have that facility.

Should be in there somewhere Clive.
It may be under Nero Info.

It seems to have installed two pieces of software:  Nero Home, and Nero Start Smart.  But neither has a section called "info".  :(

I found Nero Home a bit of a nightmare, as it took over the whole PC, so I uninstalled that part of it.

Have a look in Start > All Programs, Clive, I think you'll find Nero Tools under the Nero listing in there.  :)

Thanks Simon!  :solved:   Everything is there.  But I wonder why they didn't make it a little more obvious?  :D

Nero is getting to be a bit like norton and all the other bloatware makers. The only other addon i found useful was the little wave editor. Everything else I just leave on the cd.

Exactly, that is one program you must do a custom install to leave all the junk off.

Nero irritates me with the way it takes over all sorts of file associations if you're not careful. :(

It's fine if you're careful during the installation, to only install the bare bones required.  :)
