The other aspect to remember is that pcAnywhere works with an ordinary modem, whereas Remote Desktop really needs a fast Internet connection such as ISDN/ADSL. It also helps to have an &quot;always on&quot; connection to the Net.

Maybe pcAnywhere is better for your needs Gem :)

You're quite right Adept, no chance of a faster modem here, I'll have to stick to pc anywhere anyway.  I joined a local pressure group for broadband in the dales, hope I don't have to go on marches and things lol.
