The Chateaubriand, earlier this year, was a steal at £15.

It was, and I stole half a dozen!  ;D  Have to admit, I'm not overly excited by the winter sale.  There's lots on offer, but most of the discounts are quite small, so it doesn't really make stuff all that much more affordable.

Rik:
The whole fillet logs are one of the best deals, and as we use them for dinner parties, that was good for us. The heart of rump roast is good too.

Simon:
Yes, I've ordered a couple of hearts.  Not sure about the 'slow cooking' yet, though.

Rik:
I think we just roast them as standard, but I'd have to check with the chef, who is just finishing off a vanilla and caramel bavarois for tonight. :)
