The Chorley and Leiston Thread
« on: September 14, 2010, 22:09 »
Well, I suppose watching your local footy team can be classed a hobby and as Terry has rejoined us and Terry and I like to keep an eye on how our respective teams are doing, I thought I would start a "home" thread to post news and results.

Great win for Chorley tonight.  Top two clash away at Clitheroe and Chorley extend their lead at the top with a 2-0 victory.  A great confidence booster before Saturday's game at pre-season favourites Chester.  :)

Best of luck, Dave.  The Cherries haven't been the same since Harry Redknapp wandered off in 1992, mumbling something about getting a sensible job.

CRC V LEISTON

This is definitely ‘Match of the Day’; both sides are exempted from the early stages of The FA Vase and are pitched together here. It is a long way from being a title decider, but it could be a crucial result if the two are battling toe to toe at the final run in. Both will be looking to establish a dominant position this early in the season, leaders CRC are unbeaten so far but have drawn four of their eleven games while their visitors have a 100% record on the road. They have scored 60 goals between them but have conceded at more than a goal a game. Both might be happy to share the spoils here.

Great result.  Well done Leiston.  :)

Just back from top of the league clash at Chester.  Won 2-1.  :)  Game of two halves.  First half, ball played in the air and Chester won everything.  Chorley keeper kept us in it with some unbelievable saves.  Lucky to go in at half time 1-1.  Don't know what Gary Flitcroft said at half time, but the second half was altogether a different story.  Kept the ball on the carpet and played like a Premiership side.  Chester didn't know what had hit them and Chorley were unlucky not two have scored at least three more.  They were chasing shadows.  By injury time they looked knackered, while Chorley looked as if they could have played another half hour at least.

Great away following of about 350 -400 from Chorley in a crowd of 3092.

Anthother FA cup game tomorrow, that's now 4 rounds  :woot:

Folkstone Invicta v Leiston FC

Folkstone play 2 leagues above Leiston, only trouble with this FA cup run is that we are losing way on the top teams but have games in hand but you have to win those games in hand.
