Same here.  Missed opportunity, especially as Chester lost 4-1 at Nantwich!  :ack:

Top of the table clash tonight:

Chorley (top) 0 - Northwich Victoria (2nd) 0.  Not a bad result against third favourite for promotion, especially as second favourites, Hednesford, lost at Rushall Olympic.

Incredible crowd (seeing it is blowing a gale here and raining horizontally - not to mention England were playing live on ITV) of 803.

We're at home to FC United of Manchester.  Should have been a 2500 plus crowd but (because of the trouble against Chester last year) the police and Chorley Football Club have made the game all ticket, introduced segregation, have only sent FCUM 530 tickets when they have 830 season ticket holders and FCUM have sent the tickets back as they are boycotting the match.  In addition, some Chorley fans (me included) are boycotting the match in solidarity with FCUM.

Chorley have played FCUM several times over the years and there has never been a hint of trouble.  In fact, both sets of supporters have mingled freely and met together in the bar after the match.  In addition, FCUM have actually used Chorley's Victory Park stadium for home fixtures when Bury's Gigg Lane ground hasn't been available, bringing several thousand supporters without incident.  The whole thing stinks and has come to this simply because the police mismanaged last season's Chester game, even though their was plenty indication that there would be trouble from thugs who were not connected to either Chorley FC or Chester FC and someone got their knuckles wrapped because of the ineptitude so has a point to prove.

Chorley 2 - 0 FC United of Manchester. Att. 1073 - Would have been 2573 if FCUM hadn't boycotted the match and several hundred of us Chorley regulars hadn't stayed away in Sympathy.

Never mind.  Watched it at home on a live internet stream courtesy of FCUM.tv
