I already have a USB charger but there will be times when I won't have access to a computer so a mains charger will be good.

?? I'm talking about a mains charge which provides a 5V rail via a USB socket, Clive.

£4.84 for the Apple one.

Most speakers sound pretty poor, they're worth spending a bit of money on. If you have a John Lewis or similar nearby, get them to demonstrate.

Well I was hoping to get small "cube type" speakers as headphone aren't always convenient.  I lied about the Fifty Cents, but I do want to delete a song which was mistitled in the listings.

If you want to treat yourself a little, I'd highly recommend this iPod speaker dock, which would also act as a charger:

Unfortunately, it was a lot cheaper when I bought it, but you can get similar for less.  The sound is very warm, rather than tinny, which you can get from some smaller speakers.

Not sure that that power adaptor would be suitable Rik as it still relies on the availability of USB which I won't have if I'm away on holiday.  My £2 speakers from Maplin are not at all bad.  I'm not saying they are good either.   ;D

No, it relies on the availability of a mains socket, Clive.

OK, how about something like this:

Check the reviews, though.

You'll give him a stroke with that, Rik!  ;D

The one I linked to will also act as a charger, so these really are an all in one solution.

So many questions.  I'm really getting the hang of this now and I've downloaded loads of songs.  Well two actually.  More if you count the ones I deleted.  How would I go about changing the order of the songs on my playlist?  Some seem to download much faster than others.   :dunno:

you should be able to drag and drop the songs into the order of the playlist... you can also do it on the device...
