Which way around?

When  adding new hardware, should you connect up first or insert the CD?  It's a Windows 7 computer.  :dunno:

just a guess but I would say connect first or the CD wont ' find ' the hardware   :dunno:

Ta ever so.   :thumb: It's a Samsung ML-2010 laser printer and I'm connecting it to a Windows 7 64 bit laptop.  Gulp.  64 bit.  error error- does not compute?  Oh well it hasn't arrived yet.  But tomorrow it will.   :laugh:

Oh I may not be brave enough to *open* it tomorrow!  So what I've bought is an Asus X73E 17.3-inch Laptop (Black) (Intel Core i3 2350 2.3GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, DVDSM DL, LAN, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Integrated Graphics, Windows 7 Home 64 bit costing £379 from Amazon.  I was going to buy an Acer but I prevaricated for too long and they whopped the price up before eventually selling out.   :laugh:

I just got a new Acer Aspire One - nice and small to take to and from various labs at school. Should be great. I think Clive's specs beat mine hands down but I can fit this in my coat pocket and it has a useable keyboard. I wanted an Asus Transformer but we decided it was too small for me to be able to type on.
