Cameron alliances online porn curbs
« on: July 22, 2013, 13:25 »
Every household in the UK is to have pornography blocked by their internet provider unless they choose to receive it, David Cameron has announced.

In addition, the prime minister said possessing online pornography depicting rape would become illegal in England and Wales - in line with Scotland.

In a speech, Mr Cameron warned that access to online pornography was "corroding childhood".

The new measures will apply to both existing and new customers.

his speech seemingly mixes two topics that should always be distinct. Child abuse and pornography. I think he is equating the two, that is just not acceptable.

I also do wonder if this is just another step towards censorship of the internet. Its not hard to stop your children looking at material with filters, but gosh they will always get around them. There is some really grotesque stuff out there that will alter the views of teens but that's why education is so so important. They will always find out about these things. The number of students whom have asked me, when on the topic of what is appropriate to be looking at in lessons, if I have seen two girls one cup.
