I have never bothered to upload photos in the past so advice required, what is the best/easiest way to upload from computer (or iPad) to this forum?

I would like to know that, too.  I used to use a hosting site (can't remember what it was called) and it gave you a link that you could copy and paste, but the site shut down some years ago.

I use ImgBB.

That's useful Gill.  I've always uploaded them from my computer without having to use third party software or hosting.

All I do is to right click on the photo and click "copy link".  This provides a url which you can insert in insert image above the first smiley.

That requires the image to be hosted in the first place, Clive.  I think Den is talking about posting images from his own PC, in which case an image hosting service, such as the one Gill mentioned, is required, assuming Den doesn't have his own webspace on which to host an image.

I've never used imgbb but you should be able to create a link to your image, then on here, click the first button on the left of the second row above the smilies, then past your image in between the BBCode, so it should look like this (without the spaces):

Code: [Select]

There seem to be some options as to which Embed Code to copy.  You need to choose BBCode Full Linked, copy that, then paste it directly in the post on here and it should work:
