--- Quote from: Den on January 11, 2021, 22:13 ---I will now see how I get along with Microsoft Security and by the way Simon it's not called Defender any more.  ;D

--- End quote ---

To be pedantic, it's called Microsoft Defender (formerly Microsoft Security Essentials) on Windows 10.   ;)

Den:
Oooooooooooooooooooops  ;D

Clive:
Does Microsoft Defender have to be turned on or is it there in the background anyway? I've never seen any reference to it on my computers.

Simon:
It will be turned on by default unless you have any other anti-virus software on the machine, as other anti-virus software will disable Microsoft Defender.  You may have to re-enable Microsoft Defender having removed other anti-virus software.

Den:
I know it's early days, but after running other paid for anti-virus software (Kaspersky, Norton, Bullguard and Mcafee) over the years my computer seems to be running smoother and even quicker at the moment, time will tell.  :thumb:

It kicked in as soon as I un-installed Kaspersky and then asked if I wanted to run a quick scan.
