I find DPD about the most reliable in this area.  At least you can go onto their website via the delivery notification and tell them to leave your package in a safe place if you're not going to be in.

It's taking the p**s that that don't give you a charger with a £1000 phone!

Yes Samsung do the same now. They say it's to help the environment and you can use an old one however it's complete BS as usually the old one is falling to bits so you have to order a separate one at further expense.
I forgot to mention my biggest gripe with Apple. They've made the phones virtually unfixable by third parties. So if you crack your screen it's back to Apple HQ and their crazy prices  :o

30 minutes away! Fortunately the new iPhones can withstand the force of a nuclear bomb detonated at a distance of 100 yards.   :D

That's quite possible.  But the screen will shatter into a million pieces if it falls out if your pocket.  I would recommend an armour plated case.  You can also add your phone to your home contents insurance, but make sure it also covers you for accidental damage outside of the home.

Was it delivered?  No - the driver didn't stop and merely sent a text to say he missed us.  I really hate DPD.

He didn't even get out of the van.  We have CCTV all over the building with two cameras covering the front door which we were sat watching  for him.  To say we aew spitting blood is an understatement.

Think you got unlucky there Clive. They're probably the least worst in my experience. Yodel and Hermes are on a different level of poor.
Having said that I'd be fuming as well, what do they gain from rolling up at the address then not trying to deliver  :dunno:

Time is what they gain.  We live on the 4th floor of a block of flats in the middle of a seaside town which was quite busy this afternoon.  He would have had to park up the road and walk back and he obviously didn't didn't want to waste time doing that.  The photo he took suggests he parked opposite to take the picture and simply drove off.  We actually saw the van go up the road and even thought of chasing it by car.  But that would have been difficult as by the time we got our car out on the road the driver could have been anywhere.  Hermes and Parcel Force are hopeless too.  Amazon is much better.  We tried reporting the driver but it was futile.  They are just not interested.

I'd be straight on to Trustpilot. They hate bad reviews more than anything else.

Yes, I've done that when Miele messed me about with a warranty dishwasher repair.  It does get attention, and results.  Also, if you can work Twitter (which I can't), that's another avenue for a very public complaint.

It's due within the next 15 minutes and Mrs Clive is waiting outside the front door ready to give him a piece of her mind.  She's wound up till the pips squeak!
