I really need to transfer
all
my data before the old one succumbs to the Coco Cola spillage. What 's the easiest way to do it?

Depends how much there is. Would a large capacity USB stick or an external hard drive do the job?

I've never used it. What are you wanting to transfer? You could possibly use something like Macrium Reflect (or an alternative backup product) to clone the entire hard drive, but that doesn't come without it's risks, and you'd probably encounter issues with drivers.

Whenever I've done it I've used an external hard drive. Copied all I wanted to move onto that, then from there to the new computer. Time consuming, but the only real risk is forgetting something. But then you've still got the old device if you need to go back to retrieve data.

I'm looking at this one: Seagate One Touch 1TB, Password activated hardware encryption, portable external hard drive, PC, Notebook & Mac, USB 3.0, Space Gray (STKY1000404)

I've always used Seagate and never had a problem. Just make sure 1Tb is enough.
