Has this happened to anyone else that uses Msg or is it just me, I have looked everywhere looks like someone has stole it  :o.
The only Icon I have now is on the in tray bottom right, not on the tool bar above, I have right clicked.. nope its not there  ???.

Slightly confused Hook

MSG 5? ??? There's a new version of MSN Messenger? I missed that one. I must be working too hard  ;D ;D

I'll just download it Hook and let you know how I get on  ;)

Edit: I can only find version 4.7 for XP. Should I be looking for it anywhere other than microsoft.com ;)

Hook, if it's a toolbar icon you're after, can you not just drag or copy the desktop icon (create one if there's not one there) to the toolbar?

Sorry if that's stating the obvious!   ;D

Right, I wonder if there's some confusion here over MSN Messenger or Windows Messenger?  MSN Messenger is here, and if you look at the bottom of the page, it says about different language versions.  Click on that, and you will see references to version 5.0.  It must just be MSN Messenger that has bumped up to V.5.0

Well I'm thoroughly confused now ::)

It would appear that the Win9x version is called MSN Messenger and is on v5 whereas the XP version is called Windows Messenger and is on v4.7

So I clicked on MSN Messenger for Windows and it showed an XP version (v5) which I downloaded and installed with no problems at all.

Hook, the MSN icon appeared without me having to do anything. So all I can conclude is that there was a problem with your installation. Try reinstalling by double-clicking the MsnMsgs.Msi from wherever it was downloaded.

Well, the XP version, if it's Windows Messenger, comes without all the adverts, so surely that's the better choice, regardless of which version number it is?

I'm using the version which came loaded with XP, and have had no problems with it.
