Welcome aboard katz49 and as DJ already said, nice site  :)

I think that you may have just pipped Clive to the title of the oldest member of pals but you seem to be young at heart  :-*

I have tried a load of Browsers, but have always had some problem or other with them. I.E.6 is the only one that loads all pages from all sites. You also get probs with downloading on some other browsers. Mozilla Firebird is good and fast, as is Opera, but still some probs with sites. Whats this with flashplayer? Why dont you need it with I.E.6?

Multimedia Flash Player is probably built into IE6, whereas it isn't with other browsers, but it's a very quick and simply download to install it.

I suppose it balances out with pop up stoppers, cookie managers, etc, not being built into IE, but a standard feature in Mozilla.   :)

Regarding web pages, yes there are a few which will only open in IE, as this is how they were built.  There is an add-on tool for Mozilla, with which you can right click any web page, and select 'View this page in IE'.  A doddle, and the many security flaws which are currently appearing in IE, far outweigh the odd problem opening a web page in Mozilla, in my opinion.

What's this and should I be downloading it to replace Mozilla.  ???

Naa, stick to what you've got, Lona.  Firefox is still in it's relative infancy, and is a stand alone browser (i.e. has no e-mail client).  It will eventually evolve and replace Mozilla, but not for some time yet.  If you're happy with the version you have, there's no real reason to upgrade, as the later versions of Mozilla are virtually identical to the one you have.   ;)

OK thanks for that Simon. I don't use Mozilla email and thought it might be faster. I will go by your advice and wait.  :D

Well, it is said to be slightly faster, Lona.  There would be no harm in trying it - you could always uninstall it again, without damaging your original Mozilla installation.  You would have to get any plugins you have for Mozilla again, for Firefox, but why not give it a go, if you're curious?

You know Simon, when we finally convince Lona to give things a whirl, she usually likes it.

Had to laugh though about the SpyBot program...."I had it on my PC but it was an earlier version".............Er well if you had "Installed" it, it would have told you to update to the newer version when you went for definition updates ;)

But She don't do bad for an Old Boiler, in't that right Hen  ;D ;) :P
