OK I'm having trouble again  ;D

Just changed from Mozilla to Mozilla Firefox as Mozilla was crashing everyday.

But I can't get the new windows to open in tabs - the same problem I had previously.  Also if I open another link, it sometimes replaces a page that I already had open.

Is there a way around this for Mozilla Firefox?

Cheers (again!)

Hmmm I think my mozz was causing my puter to crash, I've not been using it for a while now, and I've not had one crash.

I'll leave it now til I "eventually" get round to partitioning the drive.

I miss the tabs though. Although Aol has this thing at the bottom of the screen where you can switch windows easily.

Ok sorted out the tab problem - it was an option in the Tab > Preferences menu.

But new tabs are overwritting old tabs - a new page opens in an existing tab instead of a new tab.

Anyone know how to fix this?

DJ, I haven't got Firefox loaded on mine at the moment, but I can only think it would be something in the options.  If you haven't got it sorted later, I'll load it and have a look for you.

Michelle...  Which version of Mozilla were you using?      Anything below 1.6 is an 'old' version, and ideally should be updated, especially as 1.7 is just round the corner.

I installed Firefox, DJ, and it tried to bugger up my Mozilla installation, so I had to uninstall it to get my profile back.  :o  I couldn't see anything immediately which might have sorted your problem, but in Mozilla there is an option (see below) which might do what you want - is the option not there in FF?

Oh mine is 1.4 - funny though I'm sure it "was" okay for a while. I'll upgrade then.  God I dunno what to do first!!

Canceling your AOL Broadband installation would be a step in the right direction   ::)

Found it Simon. It was in Tools, Options, TabBrowser, Misc.  ::)

Thanks for all your help. I prefer Firefox to Mozilla and it hasn't crashed yet  ;)

Have tried Mozilla and Opera. Both now deleated as not up to the job. If you do not like IE try Netscape 7.1.

Netscape is[/b] Mozilla, JK.  But without all the advertising.  ;)  I'd be interested to know what aspects you found were "not up to the job", as Mozilla is highly adaptable.

Taking the "learned" software ramblings of someone still using ME, seriously, would be akin to letting your kids do a sleep over at Michael Jacksons.   ::) ;)

Oooh, nothing like resurrecting an old thread!   ;D ;D

I've just had another brief flirtation with Firefox and Thunderbird, and still can't really see any attraction over the Mozilla suite, especially as the Thunderbird mail client isn't attached to the browser, so whenever I hit a mail link, it fired up Outlook, even though Thunderbird was set as the default mail client.  Firefox is a great stand alone browser, but until they integrate the mail client, I'll still be sticking with Mozilla.
