Rodders, I have sent the file off again, tell me if it is correct this time. :)

Thanks for persevering with this one Lona, but while the Zip you are sending me is named REGENV32.ZIP, it actually contains the file REGSVR32.EXE.  Third time lucky?   ;)

On it's way again, Rodders. I hope it IS third time lucky. My finger must have clicked on the wrong file when I was zipping it up the first time.  :brick:

Thanks Lona, but it's still the 61k version, rather than the original one from the cab on the installation disc.  Sorry!

Sorry I couldn't help, Rodders, but as I said I don't have the installation disc, only HP's restore disc. :(

I cannot believe that you are the only person to have ever suffered this ridiculous problem Rodders.  Have you had a trawl through the "Useful sites" board?  Hook and others have put a lot of websites on there.

Theyre in the windows folder itself Dave, or they are on 98SE (called win98), I usually drag that folder over to a part of the hard drive if I install 98SE so that when it asks for the cd occassionally you can just tell it to look in that folder for whichever file it needs  :)

blast I found my disc but its the same as lona, not the me disc but a restore disc.  And the one on my machine is the 60k one?  Why does it have to be the larger one?

Oh, it seems there might be a problem with it being 60k as it should be 72k.

There is a long lengthy explaination here and with what to do.

edit - deleted thread, it looked like I'd mixed up the two there lol - I'll see if I can find it again. It wasn't even on pals  :o
