Title: software suggestion needed.

i Have a friend (yes i do) who made a very big mistake. formated a floppy disk with 13 documents on there (part of her Degree) so anyone know of software to get this info back? all i need is a name of the software, i know its expensive stuff, but i need a name. anyone of my PC Pals know?

I wish I knew of some Casper but I am more expert at losing stuff than recovering it  :'(

Doesn't Norton Utilities have an Unformat utility?

Norton Utils has an Undelete facility, but not sure about unformatting.   :-";"xx

Hi Casper ,I have it on good authority that if your friend has only done a quick format then the following should do it :
             Diskedit ( a DOS program )
             Spinrite  ( one of a kind ? )
             Disk Rescue ( windows used to be free
                           but its a pay for now  :( )

I have just found out that those programs will even recover data after a full format as long as they have not been overwritten with new data  :)
I thought at first I had found a way to get a 20gig floppy as I could have kept adding stuff then formatting and adding more then just use those progs to recover it  ;D ;D ;D

well thank you all i shall try both the methods sujested on my own test disk first ;) thx i have nortan ling round here i think, can anyone tell me a unformating  solution with out the frills?? or shall i get a saint to devise one?? lol

lol soz Adept, i ment that to sandra, who has sent me a few mails with some helpfull programs... (thanks)

however helpfull sandra has been i did have the full story, i just phoned this ladies boyfriend a close friend of mine. and its not a floppy is a hard drive, my mistake so anyone have an idea.

same problem bigger scale... :o

nevermind the program sandra mailed me works, thanks sandra  :-*
