Title: Windows 10 sign in problem
Post by: Clive on July 05, 2023, 17:51
When I attempted to sign into Windows 10 on my PC Specialist laptop, the password box had changed to PIN and would only type numbers.  When I typed the numbers without the letters another small screen appeared suggesting other options, one of which was to sign in with my Microsoft password which didn't work.  But when I put my Windows password in, all was well.  If I go into settings, sign in options it appears I can change sign in back to what I had before.  Are there any pitfalls in doing this?

I wonder if I can add a pin as well?

Something must have been reset to default.  If it's only you using the machine I'd say you can use whichever method you like!

Is that the machine that recently went in for repair?

Yes it is but it's been working perfectly since.  I wouldn't throw more money after it cost £85 last time it refused to boot up.
