Title: Forum Calendar
Post by: Rodders on February 17, 2010, 15:41
Two events to add:

28-Mar-10:  Clocks go forward (UK)
31-Oct-10:  Clocks go back (UK)

- Thus Halloween will last an hour longer this year and I'll probably be hiding under the duvet at 13 o'clock.

Not to mention a few things we don't celebrate, Cammy. They should let me play with the calendar.  ;D

It's very clever software.  It even knows what film will be on the telly on 04-Jul-10.

You can / could have already.  Fill your boots!  :)  I've updated a few entries such as Mother's Day, but there are some (Vernal Equinox?) that I'm not sure whether they apply to us here in the UK or not.

Oh please let's keep the Vernal Equinox (http://www.nmm.ac.uk/explore/astronomy-and-time/time-facts/equinoxes-and-solstices), Simon.  Otherwise we won't get to sacrifice any virgins until Groundhog Day.   ;D

Many of us are looking forward to the Vernal Equinox Simon.  It usually heralds warmer weather!   ;D

I guess we'll keep it then!  ;D

I would.  It'll be triumphantly heralded here.

Still can't get at the calendar in the ACP, which is where the important stuff can be done from.

Manage holidays - you can kill all the American junk there and put in the British stuff like Saints days (David, George, Patrick, Andrew, Shakespeare and Burns ;)).
Title: Re: Forum Calendar
Post by: Simon on February 20, 2010, 16:56
But we do have some American members.  :)  Could add the saints.  Only trouble is, we'd have to remember to do it each year.

No, you can add such things as yearly events.
Title: Re: Forum Calendar
Post by: Simon on February 20, 2010, 17:03
Only if it's the same date each year.  And if you know the dates.  ;D
Title: Re: Forum Calendar

March 1 - St David, March 17 - St Patrick, April 23 - St George/Shakespeare's birthday, November 30 - St Andrew, Dec 26 - Boxing Day, Jan 25 - Burns' Night. Forum birthday on?

OK, dates added.  Any which need to be removed?  I've taken out the incorrect Mother's Days.

As you're getting your hands dirty under the bonnet, it might be appropriate to also give 'Earth Day' the heave-ho, whilst 'Veterans Day' is known outside the US as 'Remembrance Day' or 'Armistice Day'.

Not the whole calendar, Rod, just this thing we've been talking about, which I have moved to the staff area once already, as only staff can see it!  ::) ;D
