Until sometime on Thursday 18th August, you can get a 1 year, 1 PC, license for Outpost Security Suite Pro 7.5 for free at the address below. Get looting, but be quick! ;)

Bring your own bricks, Rod? ;D

That takes me back. I used to run Outpost Firewall many moons ago. I had no idea they were still going.
-
Clive probably still is. ;D
-
Is it any good?
-
It used to do it's job, but I haven't used it for years, Gill.
-
What's a firewall? :dunno: ;D
-
Actually, you do have one. It's called Deepguard. :)

The thing is, I reckon my current security is okay. That's because I can't find any malware... but if there was malware on my computer, it wouldn't be detectable, would it?
Oh, it's just like the Millennium bug all over again. I reckon I'm secure but how do I really know I'm secure? And if I am secure, is what I fear may be insecure actually worth securing? Or do I just have a security complex?

It would by a decent, up to date, malware detector, such as Malwarebytes, or Super Anti Spyware. Different apps pick up different types of malware, so, unlike anti-virus, it's usually OK to have a couple on your machine, to scan with occasionally.

Paranoid? Of course I'm not paranoid - who told you that? ;)

Is that part of F-Secure? :dunno:

I thought it was a stain protector... :o:

;D

Yes, it is, Clive. :)

Our mission here is complete.

I've now been using Agnitum's Outpost Security Suite Pro since August and have to say I'm very pleased with it. Of course the original offer at the top of this thread is no longer valid, but all is not lost.
Provided you have a paid-for AV app from their (fairly comprehensive) list of approved vendors, you just send proof of ownership to Agnitum in exchange for a 1 or 2-year Competitive Upgrade licence for Outpost SS Pro. I can imagine this would be particularly handy if you have only a short while left before the subscription runs out for your current AV app.
I'm told this offer will expire at the end of September 2011, but while the going's good you can click here (http://www.agnitum.com/lp/competitive-upgrade-to-outpost.php) to check it out.
