Title: Unable To Save Work
Post by: GillE on October 09, 2018, 15:27
Whenever I try to save my work from any program from any program, I get this error message:

I can save to USB sticks, then cut and paste into the directory where I had originally wanted to save my work.  Can anyone please help me understand what might be going on?

Have you accidentally made the file read only Gill?

Nope. It's like that with all programs and all files.  I've checked the user privileges but they're okay - all users have permission to write and alter files.

Is this following a Windows 10 update?  Have you tried restarting the machine?

It's not after an update and I have rebooted the machine several times.

It seems there may be an issue with Windows Defender:

Many thanks, Simon - it was the Controlled Folder Access setting that was affecting my PC too.  Once again, many thanks  :thumb:.
