Title: Hauppauge WinTV USB Stick Aerial
Post by: GillE on December 22, 2009, 00:50
My hubby has a Hauppauge WinTV USB Stick for his laptop but never uses it because the aerial is so poor.  It just doesn't pick up any broadcasts.  Is there any easy way to address this problem?

You definatley need a proper aerial Gill, the ones they supply with TV cards and even the indoor type are fairly useless unless you are in an area with a really good signal.

One alternative he could try is Zattoo from :

http://zattoo.com/

Its a free program and covers most of the freeview channels plus a few extras. It runs a short ads when you change channels but seems to work quite well.

Thanks for the suggestion, Sandra.  I can't see him trusting zattoo, though.  I can't even get him to download programmes with Get_iPlayer  ::) .

I've now got a machine running in the UK... oh the fun of being able to watch proper telly (well a couple of shows a week that is).
