Title: Is Apple deliberately slowing your iPhone?
Post by: Simon on October 30, 2013, 19:18
Is Apple deliberately slowing your iPhone? Expert claims software updates are engineered to make older models useless.

Catherine Rampell, a technology columnist for the New York Times, also accused Apple of trying to 'brainwash' its customers into buying the new iPhone 5S and 5C.

Some were.  From what I recall, the last one or two didn't quite hit the mark.  But Sellers as Clouseau was such a great character.

Why on earth anyone would buy an iPhone is beyond me.  ???  A decent Android phone can do a lot more, for a fifth of the price.

... except sync with iTunes.  Unfortunately, since I fell into the Apple trap, that's become essential.   :bawl:

Three days ago my Samsung Galaxy S3 decided it would download and upgrade to Android 4.3.  Ever since, using the phone has been like swimming through treacle.  Just be careful out there, eh?  (https://www.pc-pals.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv300%2FMothballs%2FSmileys%2Fmobile.gif&hash=d0742bf6cb4d20beb36abbe8ef4f27f22d87f5a8)

It's the 'upgrade' itself that's the problem.  Samsung have since patched it, but people are now reporting problems with the patch.  In my humble opinion, Samsung couldn't even write their name without ballsing it up.  Good hardware, but spectacularly sh*te software, any and all of which should be avoided like the plague -- there are far better Freeware alternatives available.
