Title: Have you got BT Home Highway [ISDN]
Post by: Tony on May 07, 2003, 11:54
Well you may be interested to know in June BT are going to offer the option for 64 and or 128K connections to the web for an additional £10 per month on top of your line rental.

Now this offer does not include web space or an email facility. In my own case I have two 64K ISP's Plus Net @ £14.99 and Freeserve at £14.99. Now I'm thinking of cancelling Freeserve and taking up this BT offer, as I have my web hosting and email support via Plus Net.

With this set up 128K would kick in as and when need automatically, so faster downloads and a fiver cheaper all told.

More info Here (http://www.bt.com/btmidband/hm_presale.jsp?targetSection=PRICING&showsub=hm_pricing&obsPage=/btmidband/hm_presale.jsp&vStore=1322&obsOID=-32612&obsType=LINK&obsNoSee=true)

PS. Just need another 184 peeps to register for ADSL  :(

Do you have an hours limit on Freeserve at the moment Tony? AFAIK there is a limit on the Midband product of 150 hours a month.

I can do that in a week ;)

(Only 116 more people to go on my exchange :P)

To be honest with you Tony, I think you might lose out on that.  Having 128K doesn't mean you will spend any less time on the net does it?  If you have restrictions on ISP usage you might easily find yourself in trouble.

I'm counting the days 'til broadband 18th June our exchange gets upgraded and I can't wait!

ADSLGUIDE (http://www.adslguide.org.uk) is a great site for info on this subject.

Fingers crossed for a smooth change over  ;D

Well Adept and Clive

Freeserve usage, well I've never been cautioned for over usage, and when it was my only ISP I hammered it. I cannot fault Freeserve really.

My usage is between 100 to 150 hours per month per ISP. I have a 40 hour per week limit with PlusNet but there are no time outs so I can do 8 hour sessions when I'm busy  ;) And with this Midband you can carry over up to 50 unused hours per month.

So I think I will give it a whirl, I may try their £5.99 trial first  ;D

DJ1UK, STOP RUBBING IT IN Will you >:( ;)
