:welcome:
I'm sure there will be some other opinions, but have you checked the connections between the PC and the monitor?
-
Is this a new monitor ?
Is it DVI and VGA and have you switched it to the correct input to match your pcs output ?
-
Do you have a spare monitor that you can check the card's output with?
-
Hi All, Checked connections between pc and monitor, no probs. The monitor is VGA and no switch. Have checked card and no problem. Have stripped the monitor down and it looks like a few of the capacitors have leaked. Have taken a few pictures, but don't think I can upload them here.

No monitor is not new, was made in '05

You should only have to make a few more posts to enable you to upload attachments on here. :)
-
Or upload to somewhere like Flickr and link to them here.
-
He can't link either yet, Rik. Two more posts should do it. ;)

Of course.

It's due to spammers, Baz.

If new members want to post a link, they will need to PM a member of staff, just for their first few posts.

Hi All, have stripped the monitor down and have found a Capacitor has blown, have ordered a set of 10 to replace the 5 on the board, so will keep you informed as to what happens when I replace them. :dunno:

Thanks for the feedback Nash. 8-)

Indeed, and by the way, you can upload attachments now. :)

Hi All, Have replaced the capacitors and ....... it started up, BUT, The monitor must have been hit with something, as the screen is damaged inside, could not see it till monitor started up and screen lit up  Still, I am confident now in replacing capacitors ::) So thanks a lot for the help.

well glad the capacitors did the trick even if in the light of day (or the screen should I say..) a bigger issue was found.
