Post by: sharon159 on May 27, 2012, 21:14
Anyone here have any thoughts on the antivirus software by Vipre...it costs $99.00 from HSN..
it hasn't come yet, but I am getting mixed reviews from people as to whether it is worth the money. It does several components, it is life protection.. appreciate your thoughts on this..

Hi Sharon,

I can't say I've ever heard of the brand, but what you've paid ($99?) seems quite excessive for an anti-virus product.  I'm not sure what the differences are between the different versions, but there are several available on Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_5?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=vipre+internet+security+2012&x=0&y=0&sprefix=vipre%2Caps%2C160) for a lot less than that.  Read the customer reviews, though, because if it looks too good to be true, it often is, and one or two reviews say that the cheaper one are old versions which will no longer update.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.  We're always pleased to hear if someone finds a good new product.  :)
