Title: Internet access
Post by: JK on May 30, 2004, 22:27
I use ME, and a internal ADSL PCI modem to access the internet.
Over the past few days I have encountered a problem.
I can access the service and log in, but when I start my web browser it takes forever to load the home page and my mouse freezes up. The only way I can get onto the net is to keep restarting the PC until it works correctly. The problem is the
same for any web browser that I use. On one of many restarts
I encounter a windows run time error for a Iomega programme
with something to do about ad's.I use a Iomega drive. When this was cancelled the the net access worked fine. At the moment it take up to an hour to get onto the web by restarting the PC. Any help would be appricated. The PC has regular scans for viruses and also ad removal software running.

PS
Other than internet access the PC performs correctly.

Just a stab in the dark, but the first thing I would try is to uninstall and re-load the drivers for the PCI card. I might also be tempted to move it to another free PCI slot at the same time.

Hi
The problem has been solved, it was the same problem as Lona's,
remove and re-install the Norton firewall.
Thanks
