Actress Ruth Madoc, who starred in the BBC sitcom Hi-de-Hi!, has died aged 79, her agent says.
Her agent said she died in hospital on Friday afternoon after surgery for a fall she had earlier in the week.
Phil Belfield of talent agency Belfield & Ward Ltd described her as a "unique talent loved by many".

She was certainly the star of Hi-Di-Hi. A fantastic actress. :rip:
-
Nothing against her, but I couldn't bear Hi-De-Hi, or 'Allo 'Allo, and LOTSW, which I never found as funny as a large majority of the population seemed to.
-
I hated LOTSW because the BBC always managed to find a role for all those awful actors that were past their best. Compo, George Roper, Thora Hurd, Nora Batty, Smiler, Pearl and dozens of others!

I loved all three of them.

Allo 'Allo was my favourite out of that motley bunch.
