A local broadband company called Ogi came into the building a few months ago to install super fast FTTP to all the properties. I decided to take up their offer of 150Mb/s for £15 a month for the first two years after which it will double. Keeping my landline number on VoIP adds another £10 per month but it works well. I'm sad to leave IDNet but they cannot provide the service I want and have no plans to do so in the future. Anyway, the procedure was very straightforward - unlike connecting my new Canon printer to the internet!

It's a shame you had to leave IDNet, but understandable if they can't provide a service to your property.

I did have the courtesy to phone to thank them for 12 years of fantastic service.

I'm paid up until January, at which point I will be moving to FTTP, but hopefully still with IDNet.

I think that the Welsh government plans to only allow websites on sheep farming and rugby.

At least you'll still be able to get to your 'special' websites. :sheeplove:

Every cloud has a silver lining. ;D

So less than 2 weeks of blistering 150 Mps FTTP it conked out this afternoon. Not just me but also another person who had signed up. It's been like living in the 50s again. The look of distain when I offered to play a game of cards with SWAMBO was priceless.

Anyway, it's back up and running again now!

Oh dear!
