Title: Choosing an advanced router

Has anyone any thoughts on which is the most advanced router for home use?  I mean specifically, one with the most flexible user configuration.  The more settings the better. :)  I am also looking for one with good Quality Of Service (QOS) features and built in modem.

If not, is there any other forum or site you know of that might help?

Are you wanting a cable router or an ADSL modem/router ?

I am waiting for an ADSL 2+ modem with a 4 port gigabit router to come out.
At the moment there are a few 4 port gigabit routers but no ADSL of any version as far as I know with gigabit ethernet.

Thanks for replying.
I am using 8meg ADSL so it should also be Rate Adaptive compatible as well I think.

I think that you are better off looking at the latest Netgear and Linksys ADSL 2/2+ ones.
Unless moneys no object and you can afford a Cisco one  :shock:

I would be tempted to wait a month or two though as so many motherboards are coming out with gigabit etherent LAN then the router manufacturers must be developing gigabit ethernet LAN and they should be available soon.

oh and dixons had one of these on offer the offer day, i cant remember the spec I just recall noticing it...

That sounds interesting thanks.  I think it would be a good idea to wait for those.

I've just been looking at the Cisco's and they are quite expensive but I suppose you get what you pay for.
