Title: System Analysers
Post by: Simon on April 17, 2004, 18:33
We often get people askling how they can find out the details of hardware on their PCs.  Well, here are a few free tools which can do the job.  If you know of any others, preferably freeware (and without spyware / adware), please add to the list.

AIDA32 (http://www.aida32.hu/aida32-download.php) (Discontinued but still available to download)
Belarc Advisor (http://belarc.com/free_download.html) (Dead simple)
PC Wizard (http://www.cpuid.com/pcw.php) (Fairly advanced)

It's probably about time Speccy (http://www.piriform.com/speccy) was added to this list.  Although Speccy is still in 'beta' for the moment, I've used it myself and can advise that it shows every sign of becoming a very useful tool indeed.  Speccy comes from the same stable as CCleaner, Defraggler and Recuva, so has a pedigree it can be justly proud of.
