I have never bothered to upload photos in the past so advice required, what is the best/easiest way to upload from computer (or iPad) to this forum?
-
I would like to know that, too. I used to use a hosting site (can't remember what it was called) and it gave you a link that you could copy and paste, but the site shut down some years ago.
-
I use ImgBB (https://imgbb.com).
-
That's useful Gill. I've always uploaded them from my computer without having to use third party software or hosting.
-
All I do is to right click on the photo and click "copy link". This provides a url which you can insert in insert image above the first smiley.

That requires the image to be hosted in the first place, Clive. I think Den is talking about posting images from his own PC, in which case an image hosting service, such as the one Gill mentioned, is required, assuming Den doesn't have his own webspace on which to host an image.

OK what am I doing wrong. I can copy photo to imgbb but can't sort out how to transfer to the forum. It's been that sort of day.

I've never used imgbb but you should be able to create a link to your image, then on here, click the first button on the left of the second row above the smilies, then past your image in between the BBCode, so it should look like this (without the spaces):

Just tried that (again) and still did not work :)
-
There seem to be some options as to which Embed Code to copy. You need to choose BBCode Full Linked, copy that, then paste it directly in the post on here and it should work:

I love Wales and I love Bridges. :wales:

Great photo, Den. Been there many times when I was a student at Coleg Harlech Adult Residential College in the mid 1990s.
-
Lovely composition :) .

Gill, such a comment from yourself is praise indeed, thank you.
I have always loved this photo from the day I took it about 8 years ago. On that day I was involved in a accident and nearly lost the site of my right eye.
Fortunately my eye recovered other wise I might not have been able to take such a photo again. :)

I've had trouble with my eyes too, nearly losing my left eye when I was a teenager and again, a few years ago, when the retina tore. I know how worried you must have been. Thank goodness you recovered! I love my photography so much that I'd be totally bereft if I lost my vision.
Mind, there are times when my eyesight can lead to erratic outcomes. ;)
