Hi Beany :welcome:
CMUDA.SYS is causing the problem. It is a driver for a C-MEDIA sound chip.
Possibly, installing the latest drivers will cure problem. If the drivers from your sound card (or motherboard) manufacturer's site do not cure the problem, there may be some certified drivers available from Microsoft which will work.

Yeeha.
Thanks Adept. After some searching I found a driver and I installed it and so far it seems to be working.
This problem had me riled up quite a lot for ages.
Cheers

Try going to your MAINBOARD manufacturers website.
Look in the DRIVERS section for your particular mainboard model number.
Download the new audio drivers there. These ones should work perfectly.
However, it is possible that you have a memory issue of some kind. Everytime the audio is making a reference in memory, this is where it is falling over. Now it could be that the drivers are referencing the memory incorrectly (hence new drivers should fix) or it could be that a certain area in memory that is commonly used by those (correct) drivers is bad.
If you can, do a search for DocMemory, a free memory tester.
