Title: symols on device manager
Post by: Terry on May 07, 2004, 06:54
I have two yellow exclamation marks in my Device manager against these entries:1394 /USB CD Rom and USB HID Device together with a Question mark against Unsupported Device. Could someone kindly explain what these indicate, and could they be linked to my loss of sound

I dont think that theyre connected to your sound problem Terry.
I think that the 1394 /USB CD Rom refers to an external USB hard drive and the USB HID Device is part of the installation for a USB modem.
The yellow ! indicates that theyre not installed properly whereas if it was a yellow ? it would mean that it couldnt identify the component.
Have you got an external USB hard drive and a USB modem  ???

many thanks for your help
It transpired that I had thrown my Motherboard utilities CD into the WPB and therein lies a tale . All is well now. Until next time
