Title: NAV 03 & ZA 5.0.59.013
Post by: daveeb on June 21, 2004, 16:50
hellooo, i've read dire warnings on another forum that having nav and ZA 5.0 can result in zone alarm removing norton e-mail scanning if you have the ZA av monitoring option switched on.  i have noticed that the folder with magnifying glass (norton e-mail scan) doesnt appear any more when receiving or sending e-mails.  can anyone comment on the truth of this.    i've just disabled ZA av monitoring and recieved more dire warnings in red of the consequences of turning it off !!!  :o

Seems there is a conflict with NAV and ZA5.0, Dave.

Looks like the only work around is to roll back to the previous version of ZA, until they fix it.  Links provided, within that link.  Alternatively, you could try another firewall, like Sygate.

The Zone Alarm I'm using is version 3.7.202 and I have had no problems with it, nowt gets through that I don't want to get through. But I have downloaded and installed "Simongate" coz he keeps going on about it  ::) and you know what....so far so good.

Least ways you can have the latest free Sygate version installed,  without having the Pro version "forced onto you"    >:(
