Title: Heatsink Question
Post by: Flanjeuk on October 26, 2004, 22:59
Every time I see a Processor that is packaged "ready to go", it has a Heatsink And Fan, but when I go to buy a cooling Fan, there's no sign of a Heatsink, what is a Heatsink, and does it come with the Fan or Processor or is it bought seperatly?

The heatsink is the Aluminium body with fins that is attached to the fan to dispurse the heat away from the CPU  ;) these are normaly sold as a matching pair  8) hope this has helped.

Yes thank's a lot, so would it be a good idea to get one with an AMD64 processor? Or are they not so important?
