Ive recently bought a laptop with 802.11b Wi-Fi Wireless Adapter built in but the laptop hasn't come with too much information. I'd like to know what else I need so that I can get a wireless broadband internet connection, I've got a BT Voyager 205 ADSL Router if that helps at all. If anyone can set me on the right path I'd be very grateful.

You need whats called a wi fi access point to connect to your Voyager router.
Or a better way would be, if you could afford it is, to buy a ADSL/Wi Fi/Modem/Router and possibly sell your voyager to someone else :)
Then if you are using XP its just a case of setting the encryption code in the laptop to the same as in the router and running the network connection wizard :)
