Just installing my 2 drives 1dvd, 1dvd writer..whats the best way to connect them to the main board?do i use 1 cable with three connections or put them into seperate ide slots?....still confused and probably always will be..............
-
do u have others free? is ur hard drive using one of the slots or is it on a raid connection. if you have both free its probably a good idea to use both!

Each IDE channel can only support two IDE devices.
It doesnt really matter in which order you have the hard drive/s and cd or dvd rom/writers as long as you have them set correctly as master and slave but most people usually use the primary IDE channel for the hard drives and the secondary IDE for the rom/writers.

got 2 ide ports was gonna put sata drive on jsata channel?

SATA enabled motherboards allow one SATA drive per connector in addition to the two IDE drives per IDE cable.
Just check how the bios is set for booting for which drive you have your operating system on :)
