Title: Weather Watcher - warning
Post by: Clive on March 16, 2006, 16:56
I updated Weather Watcher yesterday aftert which I kept getting a very nasty pop-up that would not be tamed.  Ad-Aware showed it had dumped 17 pieces of spyware on me including WhenU exe which is a popup that advertises products it thinks you are looking for.  Needless to say I immediately uninstalled Weather Watcher and the popup has disappeared.
A better alternative is http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml

Thanks Terry.  It shows very bad weather for my area for the next 14 days.  Do you have anything that forecasts warm and sunny for me instead?

I updated WW recently too, Clive, and I did notice there was an option to install something which was obviously adware, but it did give you a box to untick if you didn't want it, which of course, I unticked, and mine is fine.

Obviously I was not properly awake when I carried out the update!

It is very flashy now though, and I can't help thinking unnecessarily so.  I have an old version on file if you'd like it, Clive.  :)

Thanks Simon but I'll carry on using Terry's latest offering which seems to be accurate for today at least!
