Your iPod is Doomed! (http://idoom.hyarion.com/) Or it can be, it can also be Zelda (http://www.consoleclassix.com/gameinfo_linksawakening_gb.html)'ed if you prefer!  iPodlinux.org (http://ipodlinux.org/Main_Page) has ported Linux to the iPod (for Linux, Windows and Mac) and, once its installed, you can load up all kinds of good stuff (http://ipodlinux.org/Special:Module) including the aforementioned Doom, as well as the entire Wiki (http://sourceforge.net/projects/encyclopodia) or use your iPod as a Gameboy (http://sourceforge.net/projects/iboy)! And all without screwing up your existing music files (though there are no guarantees).

yeah, my mate did this... on a monochrome one it is a bit pointless but on a colour one... wow, you can even get mp4's working nicely... ;-)
