Title: Vista uk pricing. Uk rip off?
Post by: JK on March 10, 2007, 21:21
Hi Thought that this would be an excellent occasion to express my thoughts on the pricing of software in the UK. I had an email from Amazon uk with a special pre launch uk price for windows vista £249.99. I took a look at the same item on the US site and converted to GBP it was £127. Last year I wanted to upgrade my norton AV. Saw a cheap download price on the US site, tried to download but redirected to an European site which was three times the price. In the end got one on Amazon for £5. Pleased I did not buy the vista as so much software will not work on it.

Yes, Rip Off Britain strikes again!  You can get an OEM version of Vista a lot cheaper from online retailers, for example, Microsoft OEM Windows Vista Home Premium x32Bit (DVD) from Ebuyer is a shade over £70 plus postage.
