Title: Diagnostic Test on Router ?

Just checking my router settings getting this on diagnostic tests Ping primary DNS 194.74.65.68 FAIL &Ping www.conexant.com FAIL any ideas what it means anyone? & how I can correct it ?.......Jim

It might be a problem at their end, Jim.  :dunno:  Have you tried pinging other IPs?

Dont worry too much about it if the routers connecting ok Jim.

I just ran the same test on my conexant based router and got this :

It passed the primary default gateway as I assume yours did then the next line was :

Ping primary DNS                                 : N/A 

Looking in the help files it has this :

Ping Primary Domain Name Server

This test returns PASS if the primary DNS can be reached through a ping request. The primary DNS is assigned by your service provider or obtained from your service provider by PPP or DHCP negotiation.
If this test returns FAIL, run this test again a few minutes after this test is completed. If this test returns FAIL consistently and your DSL modem seems to not be working, check to make sure your statically assigned primary DNS IP address is configured correctly or DHCP client is enabled with the current VC.

This test returns N/A if there is no DNS configured.
